We are seeking unique people who believe in fostering a diverse, inclusive, and safe environment.We are on the lookout for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to manage maintenance, reliability, and engineering at Sappi Stanger.As a Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for:Managing maintenance activities of the relevant mill sectionManaging risks by planning and executing preventative and strategic maintenance programmesActively driving the use of plant reliability monitoring techniques to ensure proactive maintenance and reduce unplanned downtimeLeading and managing maintenance teamsAddressing safety, health, environmental, and quality issues, including incident investigationsShort-term planning as well as annual shut planningBudget management and cost controlLegal compliance applicable to maintenanceRoot cause failure analysis and close outsUtilizing and monitoring the SAP maintenance management system.What are we looking for?BSc/BEng/BTech in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a heavy industry/manufacturing environmentORNational Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a heavy industry/manufacturing environmentStrong leadership experienceExcellent planning, organizing, and technical problem-solving skillsAbility to make smart decisionsGovernment Certificate of Competency (Factories) would be an advantageExperience in the Pulp & Paper industry would be an advantageMust be able to work efficiently in a high-pressure environmentWhat's in it for you?Opportunity to work within a global organisation that continues to thrive in a rapidly changing world even after 80 years of existenceLearning and development programmes to fast-track your career within SappiOpportunities to travel (dependent on the role)Market-leading leave benefitsSappi is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
