Requirements: BSc or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering Postgraduate qualification is advantageous Minimum of 5 years experience in the design and development of complex, multi-disciplinary systems Design experience in forestry and / or agricultural equipment would be an advantage Extensive experience on Autodesk Inventor Proven track record in the development and manufacturing of specialised engineering projects in a light fabrication manufacturing environment with an excellent grasp of welding Experience of conceptual and detailed design of equipment, sub-components, machined components, sheet metal design, weldments and assemblies Ability to generate detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMS and assembly instructions Strong project management skills with a proven ability to deliver complex engineering projects on time and in budget Key responsibilities: Product Design, Development and Manufacturing: Participating in concept design development, design, build, and test mechanical systems for forestry equipment, focusing on performance to specification, manufacturability, reliability, and cost-efficiency. Documentation: Produce detailed engineering documentation, including CAD models (Autodesk Inventor), technical drawings, BOMs, project reports, quality documentation, specifications, etc. Collaboration: Work closely with partner companies and cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, manufacturing, and sales, to ensure that the end product meets both technical and commercial objectives. Project Management: Manage engineering projects from concept through production, ensuring timely delivery while staying within budget. Manufacturing and assembly support: Assist manufacturing and assembly teams and partners in solving technical challenges related to fabrication. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for product performance enhancements, reliability improvements, and cost reductions through technical innovation.
