Our Client a leading Trailer and Truck Body Builder is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team based in Umhlanga  They are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to Product Design and Development - Trailer Design and develop Mechanical Systems and Components. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components. They will work closely with our team of engineers to ensure the performance, reliability, and safety of our products. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing. You will be involved in all aspects of the design process, from concept development to production. Your expertise will be critical in solving complex engineering problems and optimizing the performance of their products. Remuneration: R50 000-R60 000 -Market Related depending on experienceWorking hours: Monday – Thursday 07h00-16h45 , Fridays 07h00 -15h00 Requirements: Work experience in Basic engineering principles, design, production, process engineering, project management etc.Must have B-Tech / BSc / B-Eng (Mechanical) Engineering Degree from a reputable South African University.3 – 5 years working experience at a Mid-Management Level.Proven experience in designing and developing mechanical systems and components.Proficient in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCADKnowledge of industry standards and regulations related to mechanical engineering.Valid driver's License with their own transport.Good Communication skills & able to work under pressure.Exceptional attention to detail. Responsibilities Include:Product design and development - Trailer design and develop mechanical systems and components.Production pack compilation, existing of the information required to produce the product.Plant and machine designConduct feasibility studies and perform analysis to ensure the functionality and performance of designs.Create 3D models and detailed drawings using CAD software.Project managementGeometric Modelling, Experience with Solidworks would be an advantage.Failure analysis, FEA knowledge would be an advantage.Manage spreadsheets Microsoft Excel.Manage and maintain the Bill of Material for various builds.Basic coding (Visual basic, Microsoft excel) background will be an advantage.Networking servers (IP's) would be an advantage.Engagement across various projects within the branchesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions.Conduct testing and evaluation to validate designs.Identify and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.Participate in design reviews and provide feedback and recommendations. Please take note: if you have not been contacted within 14 days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
