Ceres Fruit Growers, one of the leading fruit packing and marketing companies in SA, has the above position available for an energetic and professional individual to join their team based at their premises in Ceres (Western Cape). The incumbent will report directly to the Manager: Engineering Services and be responsible for the maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment and control systems.
Duties will include:Asset management (maintenance plans, capacity analysis, scheduling, etc.) and ensuring high availability of packhouse equipment and vehicle fleet.Active participation and management of capital projects.Providing support to the millwrights/mechanical/electrical staff through guidance and provision of training/experience.Drafting and controlling packhouse maintenance (mechanical & electrical) budgets.Inventory management.Liaison with internal & external clients and contractors.General maintenance on premises.Implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.Safety programme management (SHE).All other tasks related to the role.Essential qualifications, skills and experience:Relevant engineering qualification (minimum N6) with completed trade test.8 - 10 years' relevant experience in maintenance/engineering in a packhouse/production work environment.Excellent interpersonal skills (Afrikaans and English).Good computer skills and PLC knowledge.Willingness to provide assistance and guidance to team outside of normal working hours as needed.Valid driver's license and reliable own transport.In line with CFG's EE policy and requirements, preference will be given to suitably qualified persons from designated groups.
