Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with CADD systems: Performing calculations for materials and weight limitations. Communicating with engineers, and incorporating knowledge gained into drawings. Preparing, reviewing and redrafting alongside the engineering team.Duties & Responsibilities:Engineering Drawing:Must be able to draw mechanical drawings for machining and assembly.Understand the symbols used for drawings.Can understand 2D and 3D drawings.Can use drawing software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD).Drawing Packs:Compile drawing pack for Q.C. and workshop.Drafting:Drafting of new product (3D, 2D).Profile drawings.Mechanical drawings.Compiling Manuals.Calculations:Calculate weights and dimensions for packaging.Measurements, tolerances, and product specifications are calculated correctly.Requisitions:Filling out requisitions of materials as per job.Bill of Materials:Compile bill of materials as per each job.Administrative:Activate parts on Sage.Check parts on Sage.Comply With Company Policies and Procedures:Comply with Safety Management System Requirements.Comply with the Human Resources System Requirements (Time Management).Comply with the Quality Management System requirements.Requirements:Education:Grade 12National Diploma in Mechanical DraftingExperience:2+ Years' Experience with AutoCAD 2D and 3D.Previous experience of machining, welding, fabrication, and engineering assembly drawings.Knowledge:Understanding of machine components.Understanding of mechanics.Understanding the tension and forces needed for components.General engineering manufacturing processes knowledge.Skills:3D-CAD-AUTOCAD Drawing and modelling experience.Inventor modelling advantages.Strong Computer Skills.Good Verbal and writing Skills in English.Able to take responsibility for projects.Abilities:Capable of using measuring instruments.Able to work under pressure.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentEducation:Diploma (Required)Experience:AutoCAD: 7 years (Required)SAGE Evolution: 2 years (Preferred)License/Certification:Diploma in Mechanical Draughting (Required)Drivers License (Required)
