Mechanical Designer

Well established company based in Durban, KZN, is looking for a Mechanical Designer to join their team.SkillsSheet metal design and Tube/Profile frame design in Solidworks.Any experience in designing of bulk material handling solutions like bucket elevators, augers, conveyors, etc would be beneficial but not required.Solidworks PDM experience would also be beneficial.ResponsibilitiesComponent and plant design.Detailing of manufacturing drawings.Study existing mechanical designs and come up with improvements.Refine and adapt initial designs based on feedback and additional research.Respond to briefs for new products and come up with initial design ideas.Present design reviews.Provide feedback on design reviews.Oversee physical product development and testing.Work to project timelines and within the project budget.Keep project designs, drawings and documents up to date on PDM server.Keep project management system up to date with day-to-day activities.Get pricing from suppliers.Place orders with suppliers.Suitable candidate to have Mechanical Engineering Diploma (Beneficial but not required), must be good at problem solving, be a creative thinker, have attention to detail and must be a team player.Desired SkillsMechanical DesignerPDMSolidWorksSheet Metal
