Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description:Project and Machine Design: Manage client component sales, including warranty replacements, addressing wear and tear, handling breakdowns, and processing direct purchase requestsCoordination: Oversee the ordering, fabrication, and delivery of components to ensure smooth project executionProject Schedule Management: Maintain and regularly update the project schedule to reflect task progress, providing updates to the Head of Projects at least twice per weekDesign Contributions: Propose design improvements, develop innovative solutions to challenges, and enhance the efficiency of componentsData Pack Review: Evaluate and provide detailed feedback on colleagues' design data packs, ensuring they are complete and accurate prior to releaseDesigners Manual Development: Document critical design criteria during the design process to create a comprehensive reference manual for onboarding and guiding new team membersJig Design: Design jigs when projects require high-volume production or job repeatabilitySkills & Experience: Graduate with up to 5 years of experienceSolid understanding of technical designs, drawings, and materialsProficient in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelSkilled in SolidWorks and Auto Inventor softwareExperience with Autodesk Inventor (advantageous)Valid drivers licenseQualification:Beng or BTech in Mechanical Engineering Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
