Let me fetch the job description for you...Mechanical AssemblerLocation: Port ElizabethDescription:Basic Educational Requirements:Formal Schooling: Grade 12Formal Tertiary Education: Qualified Artisan(Fitter and Turner/Toolmaker/Millwright) or Mechanical Engineering DiplomaLanguages:English: Read, Write and speakDrivers License: Code 8Requirements and Experiences:5 Years experience in a Jendamark Related mechanical industry/ working environmentExperience in testing of tooling, sub-assemblies and complete facilities to ensure it meets project, marketing, safety, product and customer requirementsExperience in fault finding and its root cause identification, in the mechanical industry and on Jendamark-related facilitiesComprehensive experience with mechanical assembly hand toolsComprehensive experience with all relevant measuring, levelling and alignment equipmentComprehensive experience in measuring and alignment procedures of various applications within the machine assembly processExperience and ability to read and interpret details and requirements from mechanical design drawings, and from mechanical soft-copy designs.Job Objectives:To assemble special purpose machinery as per the design requirement using accurate and concise assembly techniques in order to achieve the required assembly toleranceTo functional test special purpose machinery to ensure the machine meets the design requirements as planned.Main Tasks and Responsibilities:Assemble facilities on time as per project requirementAcknowledge and accommodate the requirements to have to work additional hours to achieve project milestonesUnderstand and comprehend facility purpose and objectives.Comprehensively read, understand and transform Mechanical designs into assembled functional machines/facilities, exercising and applying mechanical knowledge and best assembly practices to achieve high accuracy as per drawing specificationsCorrectly identifying components for the purpose of the assembly applicationWork together with Mechanical and Control System Engineers to achieve facilities functional requirementsManage and assist testing of facilities and tooling to conform to mechanical design specifications.
Identify non-conformances and establish root cause.Liaise confidently and constructively with specialist consultants e.g.
Design Consultants/SuppliersInstall facilities on site if and when requiredTo operate within the safety regulations of the company/OSH actExercising and maintaining high standards in: housekeeping, organizing and controlling issued parts and drawings.To comply with ISO proceduresRelated JMS-system updatesPreference will be given to employees from the designated groups in line with the provisions of the Employment Equity Act, No.
