Key OutputCarry out scheduled and preventative maintenance and repairs as per OEM requirements.Systematic and efficiently troubleshoot and diagnose machine systems problems and carry out repairs on earthmoving equipment on customer sites.Compile accurate customer machine reports that include failure analysis, condition, service, Machine Inspection Reports (MIR's) and Technical Analysis reports (TA's).Maintain professional image when representing BWE.Work on specific customer sites as per customer requirements (Man on Hire) when required.Ensure complying to safe work practices when working on machines.Maintain and control Contamination Control Standards.Responsible and Control of own admin (labour booking, service reports, part returns, expenses etc.)Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained (ISO standards).Qualification, Experience and CompetenciesQualified in relevant trade (e.g. Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic) NQF 3.Minimum 7 years post qualification experience on earthmoving machines (Minimum 5 years Caterpillar experience).Caterpillar Machine specific technical knowledge and skills (Caterpillar Certification an advantage).Sound interpersonal and communication skills.Good technical report writing.Good Computer Literacy (SIS, STW & ET) knowledge, Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).Applicable fundamental product knowledge (Caterpillar).Advance troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Basic business and financial understanding.Good health – meet Company and customer site compliance requirements.Have basic tools (BWE standard kit).Driver's licence – Code B.Prepare to travel daily.Prepare to work away from home on short notice and undefined periods.Understanding of OEM and supplier warranty systems, policies & procedures.Required to work on various customer sites on an adhoc basis.
