St Peter's College is an independent Anglican Diocesan school for boys and girls from Grade 8 to Grade 12. The school was founded in 1998 to meet the demand for a co-educational high school in northern Sandton. St Peter's College offers an integrated and relevant South African high school education.
The aim of the College is to ensure that individual potential is achieved through exposure to a wide range of excellent academic, spiritual, sporting, creative, cultural, and community activities. Our goal is to create and maintain an environment where trust and respect for the individual prevails, where diversity and inclusion are valued, and where individual responsibility is fostered within the context of teamwork.
Due to growth in numbers, St Peter's College is currently seeking to appoint a committed, reliable, and hardworking Mathematics Teacher.
Minimum Requirements
Completed Post Matric Tertiary qualification majoring in Mathematics
Must have at least five years' experience teaching Mathematics (Grade 8-12)
Must have experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Must be registered with SACE
Must have Police Clearance Certificate
Duties and Responsibilities
Meet the needs of all students by using a wide variety of teaching techniques as well as technology.
Set specific objectives and develop lesson plans as well as provide instructional materials to achieve these objectives.
Design developmentally appropriate learning experiences making the subject matter accessible and meaningful to all students.
Use technology to enhance the teaching and learning process.
Design classroom activities that show evidence of differentiated instruction making effective use of instructional time.
Effectively integrate a variety of assessment techniques - both traditional and alternative.
Monitor and assess student's academic progress and personal growth toward stated objectives of instruction.
Work cooperatively with other professional staff members in assessing and resolving learning problems.
Create a classroom environment that is safe, secure, supports optimum learning, and fosters mutual respect of individual and cultural differences.
Establish and maintain frequent communication with parents/guardians to discuss student's progress.
Work effectively with administrators, colleagues, parents/guardians as well as the community and be responsive to their requests.
Perform non-instructional duties as assigned.
Uphold and enforce College rules, administrative regulations, and Council policy.
Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Head of the College.
