The Materials Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of raw materials into production and the movement of finished goods into storage. This role also oversees waste management and monitors rework processes to ensure optimal efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications:
Matric essential.
Tertiary qualification in Logistics / Supply Chain or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years stock management experience in FMCG warehouse.
Computer literate with intermediate Excel.
Competencies:
Strong understanding of stock control in manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Knowledge of supply chain best practices and industry trends.
Understanding of relevant regulations and safety standards.
Attributes:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Must be able to carry parcels weighing (±15kgs)
Key responsibility:
Manage inventory levels of raw materials and consumables required to fulfil production plan (daily, weekly, and monthly).
Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of raw materials while optimizing inventory levels to minimize stockouts.
Conduct regular stock takes to maintain accuracy and identify variances.
Track and manage rework and second level stock generated due to quality defects or non-conformance to specifications.
Work closely with quality assurance and production teams to ensure that rework products meet quality standards.
Collaborate with production to ensure material availability based on production plans and demand forecasts.
Ensure that the right materials are available in the correct quantities and quality standards are met.
Work closely with production teams to address any material shortages or quality issues that may impact production.
Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatch of raw materials and finished goods in the warehouse.
Implement efficient warehouse layout and organization to optimize space utilization and facilitate smooth material flow.
Enforce safety, housekeeping and hygiene standards in the warehouse to maintain product integrity and employee well-being.
Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements in material handling, waste management, and rework processes.
Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, waste generation, and rework quantities.
Enforce quality control measures to ensure that incoming and outgoing products meet standards and regulatory requirements.
