Position: Planner - Material and Production Location: Pinetown Role Type: Permanent Industry: Manufacturing Reports to: Supply Chain Manager Minimum Qualification Criteria: Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related field Proficient use and knowledge of ERP in respect of purchasing and inventory related modules 4-5 years of Strong Planning experience 4-5 years Forecasting experience. Minimum 3 years experience within a manufacturing environment. Excellent communication and negotiating skills. Basic lean manufacturing knowledge an advantage Stock management. Computer/ERP Skills: MS Office Suite Syspro (Would be advantageous) Roles and Responsibilities: Production Control / Plannin g Generate monthly production plan (Operations Plan) Generate daily pacer plans Rescheduling of production to suit changes in orders, material supply etc., and the affective communication hereof to all affected parties Assist with customer liaison in respect of build rates, stock, etc P&A planning, co-ordination, follow-up, liaison & distribution Complete the daily Production vs Plan performance graphs (MPSP), and forward to all necessary parties Running of MRP Customer liaison and feedback with regards to sales orders and delivery due dates Resolves and escalates issues with regards to customer service and deliveries in a timely fashion Dispatch Arrange transport of finished goods Communication Participate in team meetings effectively. Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion. Constant communication with both internal and external customers Supply Chain Assist with the continuous improvement program to transform the supply chain function into a world class operation within the company Stock Management Assist the monthly stock taking process, ensuring that all counts are accurate and any stock variances are eliminated. Maintain good stock management practices to ensure efficient stock levels without undue stock shortages. Maintain, develop, implement and ensure adherence at all times to company SOPs within the Supply Chain The Planner assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Supply Chain Supervisor/Manager.
