Role Overview: The Master Electrician will be responsible for site and team management, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar electric systems.
They will work with other members of the team to ensure that installations are carried out to the highest standard and in accordance with healthy and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Responsibilities: Solar/PV experience with commercial and/or industrial projects.
Atleast 2-3 years.
ECA - Certificate of competence Department of Employment and Labour Registration Letter Three-Phase Wireman's License Regular reporting to the Head of Solar Check and approve the Bill of Quantity (BOQ) Site inspection and site management Work closely with the Health and Safety Manager and ensure that team follows all health and safety procedures.
Provide recommendations and suggestions for the best solution for the client.
Manage the solar team (solar electrician and solar installers) Management of company tools and equipment Must demonstrate confidence in ability to do testing, troubleshooting and repairs.
Signing off COC's. Installing and maintaining solar electric systems Have excellent knowledge of electrical systems, their components, and the National Electrical Code Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience and knowledge of health and safety regulations relating to electrical work Experience with switching LV, MV and HV systems and Lock-out, Tag-out procedure.
Additional Requirements: This position may require overnight travel for an extended period, the cost of which will be the company's responsibility.
The employee must have a valid driver's license.
The employee must produce a valid health certificate within 30 days of commencement of employment and must provide a valid health certificate annually at their own cost.
Valid Working at Heights certificate may be required.
