This position reports to the Head of Merchandising and Promotions Your responsibilities will include: Deliver against hard key commercial and service level performance indicatorsNegotiate promotional offers with our sellersDrive customer awareness of seller listings through promotional & deals leversBuild the deals/promotional pipeline in correct product mix (assortment and depth)Inventory availability management for promotional/deals linesMaintain and grow relationships with existing marketplace sellersContinuously assess industry and market trends locally and internationallyContribute to improvement and optimization of promotional & deals processesPlan and execute joint marketing activities with sellersWork closely with Divisions and Marketplace team to ensure strategic alignmentWork closely with Customer Service to resolve related queriesAttributes required: Ability to interpret data to make informed decisionsPassion and drive for reaching set goalsStrong negotiator with a merchant mindsetStrong prioritization and planning skillsSmart creative, willingness to innovate / take calculated risksPassionate about retailQualifications/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and/or 5 years related industry experience in Buying, Business Development or SalesProven track record of negotiations and sourcingExisting industry networks advantageousCompetence in Excel in terms of data analysisThe Environment: Takealot employees are entrepreneurial and dynamic, smart, customer-centric, fun and have the shared ambition of Takealot being the leading e-commerce company in Africa.We have fun, work hard, take ownership, work in teams to create solutions, and are always open to direct feedback/new ideas on where we can improve.We are short on ego and high on output.We are doers and not only thinkers; it's all in the execution after all.We love what we do and what we are creating.We seek to employ an Extra Ordinary Mind who:
