IntroductionThe Marketing Officer makes a key contribution to a highly motivated and vibrant team, supporting the development and implementation of an effective Brand Communications Strategy. The role requires exceptional creative acumen, research ability, project management competence, excellent all-round communication skills, the flexibility to tackle any number of communication and project outputs, and the kind of positive attitude which supports change and delivers meaningful results.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the Marketing & Communications Manager in developing and implementing a marketing, advertising and loading strategy which promotes the NEF's image, reputation and visibility amongst local, national and international stakeholdersDevelop and manage marketing plans and applicable budgetsDevelop, implement and monitor marketing campaigns (above-the-line, below-the-line and online)Prepare detailed advertising briefs and provide solutions to meet specific communication objectivesLiaise with agencies and service-providers and co-ordinate their outputsEnsure quality-control, effective and timeous delivery of all production outputsReview and secure approval on all communication materialCommission and manage research, including Brand Audit and Focus Group Research and translate research results into appropriate marketing actionsMonitor competitor environment as well as market activities/trends and translate into appropriate actionsInitiate and organise events and exhibitions to promote Brand NEFProtect and support the NEF's brand image by offering advice and direction on the appropriate use of brand and product identity for print and other mediaCommission, brief, place and monitor creative designs and marketing collateralCoordinate internal and external marketing events and promotional campaignsSupport Human Resources in planning, defining and implementing an effective Corporate Culture programme, including Change Management supportSupport the Internal Communications and Public Relations activities of the organisationCompile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, including Contact Reports of operational meetingsAdvise the Marketing and Communications Manager of relevant risks and opportunitiesQualification RequirementsDiploma or Degree in Marketing, Brand Management, Advertising, Media or Communications ScienceExperience / Skills RequiredAt least 3 years' experience in a marketing, media or communications environmentExperience in and knowledge of creative and design applicationsUnderstanding and knowledge of market researchUnderstanding of advertising production and media buyingKnowledge of the media and understanding of audience behaviourKnowledge of exhibition and outdoor marketingAbility to convey complex messages clearly and through written and verbal communicationAbility to influence and educate as well as direct other staff on communication issuesAbility to negotiate effectively to extract the best terms for the NEFDemonstrate a good understanding of reputation management and pro-active approach to reputational riskFlexibility and willingness to work as part of a team, maintaining good working relationships with staff at all levelsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsA willingness to travel and to work extra hours, including on weekendsAbility to identify reputational risk and accelerate recovery plansPersonal Attributes/Behaviours/Attitudes
