Key purpose To drive strategic client engagement by creating brand and communication solutions that enable business to meet their objectives by:
Defining, co-creating with business stakeholders and driving personalised client experience and engagement journeys and campaigns that drive client engagement and improve profitability.Understanding client data to conceptualise, deliver, manage and continually optimise and iterate journeys and campaigns. Channels may include (but are not limited to) emails, the banking app, welcome calls and WhatsApp.Understanding and using specialised sales tools to deliver projects.Applying best practice marketing and advertising principles, and leveraging key partnerships both internally and externally.Making sure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to: Campaign delivery and managementUnpacking complex business needs and providing creative solutions considering all stakeholders and best practice principles for communication journeys and campaigns.Directly managing and contributing to the creation and delivery of high-quality communication campaigns and journeys.Collaborating closely with key stakeholders, including product owners within the Discovery Bank marketing team, senior business people and cross-departmental teams to develop full lifecycle journeys that are relevant and appealing to target audiences, to help achieve company and business unit objectives, including driving profitability.Ensuring each campaign or journey has clear metrics that are aligned to business objectives.Defining, implementing and changing processes as needed.Ensuring that creative solutions are in line with the Discovery marketing model – and consistent across all brands, businesses and communities.Building and maintaining relationships with key business stakeholders, both at a strategic and operational level.Managing a budget.Campaign analyticsCarry out post-campaign analysis to report KPIs and distribute learnings, in collaboration with business stakeholders.Develop and analyse key marketing metrics to ensure campaigns are meeting goals and to make recommendations for enhancing their effectiveness.Continuously optimize strategies to drive higher returns including A/B and multivariate testing.Prepare and disseminate regular reporting.Stay on top of industry and international best practice and apply learnings internally.KnowledgeExperience in relevant field with tools, email campaign building, and list selection (Salesforce, HTML and WhatsApp experience would be an advantage).Ability to troubleshoot coding or template problems.Ability to define new audience types.Good understanding of database concepts and segmentation.Expertise in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Understanding of different Discovery audiences, products and business processes is beneficial.Understanding various advertising and media channels, including digital channels.Agency experience, either from working within an agency or alongside – especially in advertising, media, and design.SkillsCommunicate well in English – with strong writing and verbal communication skills.Convert technical information into audience appropriate communication.Influence and persuade people to get things done.Question process, strategy and outputs.Multitask on different projects.Present and sell ideas.Keen negotiator.Make decisions under pressure.Solve complex problems.Build trusted partnerships.Good at managing trade-offs.Instil confidence in others.Guide, develop and/or motivate others.AttributesStrong attention to detail.Solution orientated and can think outside the box.Dynamic and energetic.Flexible and adaptable.Sociable and diplomatic.Action orientated, tenacious and persistent, with a natural inclination to work hard.Take Initiative, a self-starter who can work independently, but also collaborate well.Work calmly under pressure and provide answers and direction to others.People and relationship focused and seen as a trusted adviser by clients.Confident.Resilient.Education and experienceQualificationsMinimum 3-year undergraduate degree or diploma (BA or B.Com in Marketing, Advertising or Communication).Postgraduate qualification in marketing is preferable.ExperienceMinimum of eight years' experience in advertising, marketing or communication (content marketing, digital marketing/campaign management, product sales, advertising and client engagement would be advantageous).Minimum of three years in a management position.Experience in the financial services industry is preferred.EMPLOYMENT EQUITY
