We are at a turning point of our business, we have a market disrupting product and we are tooling and equipping ikeja for its launch. We are seeking the correct individual to join us at the ground level of what we have internally dubbed "ikeja v3". As we embark on an exciting new phase of growth and rebranding, we are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Marketing Manager to lead the marketing department of South Africa's first & largest Internet Solutions Provider for eKasi.
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for overseeing all marketing activities at ikeja, including managing the Marketing Coordinator, Social Media Manager, and Social Media Community Manager.
This is a high-level role that requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in leading marketing teams, engaging with agencies, launching products, executing campaigns, and building strong relationships. The Marketing Manager will work closely with the Executives to drive the new direction of the brand, its marketing objectives and to ensure the success of our brand initiatives.
We are looking for individuals who are self-directed, detail-oriented, personable, and comfortable being visible and present on the ground within the areas that ikeja serves. We will take preference to candidates who have experience in the eKasi market (Think informal market Payment Providers, Remittance Companies, Streaming Companies, FMCGs).
Your execution of this role will be critical to driving all marketing objectives of the business, making this an exciting and challenging opportunity to join ikeja and play an integral role in our overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and manage the Marketing team.
Serve as the hiring manager for any roles within the marketing department.
Manage the performance and time and attendance of all team members.
Oversee the social media arm of the marketing department to ensure consistent and engaging social media presence.
Create processes to ensure brand uniformity and consistency and brief them into your team.
Review and approve all customer facing and employee facing communications.

Strategic Planning and Execution:

Ownership of ikeja, digital, social and out of home functions in their entirety.
Maintain and work closely with the Sales Department in order to assist the department achieve their sales goals through relevant marketing support.
Development of new Branding of ikeja new premium product and launch thereof.
Ownership of the marketing and branding of all of ikeja's product skews (New and old).
Develop and execute the internal marketing strategy for employees and corporate branding (EVP) in partnership with HR.
Develop and implement marketing strategies for partnerships, rebranding efforts, and new product rollouts.
Work closely with the COO to plan and execute marketing campaigns.
Drive the marketing team to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

Brand Management:

Serve as the internal touchpoint for external liaison with brand agencies and external stakeholders.
Oversee the development and execution of various marketing campaigns, including spaza shop paintings and flyer distributions.
Ensure the uniformity of the brand across all marketing materials and platforms.

Community and Field Marketing:

Engage in on-the-ground marketing activities in our markets and communities.
Build relationships and foster a positive brand image within local communities.

Content Creation and Design:

An in-depth knowledge of the full Adobe Suite, Canva, and new AI based tools for content creation and design.
Develop a portfolio of evidence at ikeja showcasing successful marketing campaigns.
Oversee copywriting for marketing materials, ensuring high-quality and engaging content.

Budget Management:

Manage the marketing budget and adhere to the budget approval process.
Monitor and report on marketing expenditures and ROI.

Competition Monitoring (South African Township ISP Space):

Track and analyse competitors in the South African ISP industry.
Monitor acquisitions, pricing changes, and new product offerings by competitors.
Assess competitor positioning, consumer sentiment, and market trends.
Provide actionable recommendations to maintain our competitive edge.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for the COO.

Reporting:

Report regularly to the COO on all marketing activities, campaign performance, and key metrics.
Provide insights on customer acquisition, engagement, and retention metrics.
Track and analyse the performance of marketing campaigns using tools such as Google Analytics, social media analytics, and CRM software.
Prepare comprehensive reports on marketing ROI, budget utilization, and strategic outcomes.

Requirements
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing management.
Proven experience in leading and managing marketing teams.
Experience with developing and executing marketing strategies and campaigns.
Background in working for eKasi focused companies is highly desirable.
A portfolio of evidence showcasing successful execution of marketing strategy.
Proven understanding of the landscape of ikeja's market.

Skills and Competencies:

A people's person with a deep understanding of eKasi/Informal/Township Markets.
An understanding of Human Psychology and the role it plays in marketing.
Highly motivated and proactive in driving marketing initiatives.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Photoshop, and Canva.
Graphic design skills.
Strong understanding of marketing principles and best practices.
Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining a high standard of quality.
The ability to communicate clearly and timeously both with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Ability to adapt and grow in a dynamic business environment.
