Marketing Copy EditorWe are looking for an insightful, motivated, technically-savvy, talented Marketing Copy Editor to join our growing team.The role will involve editing all content for IDM, its in-house and partner brands.This full-time position will include a three-month probationary period.The successful candidate will be able to edit for grammatical excellence, accuracy, clarity, simplicity, and brevity, in strict adherence to style guides, with the brand and corporate guidelines in mind.3-5 years of experience is needed in editing B2B and B2C financial copy.He or she will be a tech and systems ninja, able to work within a pressurised environment, and to tight deadlines.The role will involve working with, and editing for, a passionate and motivated team. The role is a supportive function of the IDM Editor-in-Chief.Key Responsibilities:Editing content across all channels and brands, including but not limited to long-form articles, web pages, news releases, scripts, social media posts, Google and Meta ads, rewards programme material, and extensive email campaigns; ensuring:Factual accuracy,Grammatical excellence,Adherence to client brief – including format, length, suitability for the purpose, and appeal to target audience, andAdherence to brand tone, style guide, and CI.Upskilling and mentoring junior writers, scoring articles, and providing feedback.Key attributes and competenciesA team player, above all else.Agile, flexible, and calm under pressure.A positive attitude.Accuracy while multitasking.Strong sense of self-discipline and ethics.Organised, with good time-management skills.RequirementsA bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.3-5 years' experience as a financial copy editor (non-negotiable).Superior proofreading and fact-checking skills; must be able to edit to final copy.Creative and highly mindful of audience/user/client experience.Superior ability to interpret and conform to briefs; asking questions where necessary.High level of proficiency in MS Office 365, Google Docs, project management systems, Microsoft Teams, etc.Experience in a fast-paced agency environment.Deadline-driven, with strong project management skills.Strong administrative and organisational skills.Must align to IDM's values.Must be based in Cape Town.Familiarity with SEO is an advantage.
