As global thought leaders, Discovery is passionate about innovating in order to not only achieve financial success, but to ignite positive and meaningful change within our society.Key PurposeThe implementation of brand and communication strategy within required timelines.The Senior Marketing Consultant is a member of a high-performance marketing team that partners with the Discovery Vitality business to implement marketing solutions and contributes to the delivery of digital and marketing communications for Discovery Vitality.The Senior Marketing Consultant will be responsible for running projects, using digital and marketing best practice and leveraging internal and agency relationships, to deliver within budget. In addition, the Senior Marketing Consultant will provide support on marketing projects and integrated marketing campaigns, work closely with external partners and assist with running partner campaigns.Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to:Being responsible for the Vitality Fitness portfolio and working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including all fitness partners, to drive awareness and create engagement while meeting business objectives.Being creative. Solve business needs, create integrated, best practice and creative solutions that are in line with the Discovery marketing model – and are consistent across all brands, businesses, and communities, ensuring that consistent, relevant messages are being given.Working across teams. Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including senior businesspeople and cross-departmental teams, to help achieve company and business unit objectives.Building relationships. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key business teams, both at a strategic and operational level. This includes building strong relationships with all Vitality fitness partners.Creating and updating relevant communication collateral (app screens, social media, website, etc.).Converting technical information into audience-appropriate communication.Assisting with key fitness events and wellness days or open days with various gym and fitness partners.Providing input into the creation and implementation of project plans and managing lead times.Briefing agencies and internal teams on campaign requirements.Strong copywriting and editing skills.Providing detailed marketing reports after each campaign to share both internally and externally.Defining, planning and delivering small social media and digital projects from start to finish within the scope, budget, agreed timelines and to specified quality requirements.Creating and updating digital and direct communication collateral (emailers, newsletters, social media, website, etc.).Overseeing campaigns and projects from implementation, project plan development, conceptualisation, briefing, writing creative briefs, the creative process, communication roll-out, production up until go live.KnowledgeAll relevant promotional channels.Agency process and relationships.Critical elements of successful digital communication.Knowledge of website management best practice.Knowledge of in-store/fitness facility branding (POS) elements.Production processes (advertising, media and print), including timelines and costing.SkillsStrong writing and verbal communication skills.Digital platform writing, content creation and briefing skills.Digital marketing skills including social media and email marketing.Exceptional attention to detail.Ability to multi-task on multiple projects without compromising deliverables or stakeholder relationships.Time and project management skills.Strong relationship management skills.Ability to convert technical information to audience-appropriate communication.Influence and persuasion skills aligned to project deliverables.Ability to work well within the brand team as well as across cross-functional teams.Ability to structure, present and sell new ideas.AttributesMotivated.Detail oriented.Ability to work well under pressure.Team player.Reliable.Education and ExperienceQualificationsMinimum 3-year undergraduate degree or diploma.Minimum of 3 - 4 years experience in Marketing, PR or Communication.Relevant industry experience.Understanding of basic marketing and digital marketing.KnowledgeDiscovery's products and business processes.Various media channels, and specifically digital.Agency process and relationships.Print and production processes (including timelines and costings).Critical elements of successful communication.Knowledge of how their role and the Discovery Vitality brand fits into the bigger Discovery picture and single customer experience.EMPLOYMENT EQUITYThe Company's approved Employment Equity Plan and Targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
