Market Risk Analyst

Purpose of the Role:Join the Market Risk Division of one of the best insurers within South Africa!
Your role as the Market Risk Analyst will be to oversee and manage key risk areas, including market risk, counterparty credit risk, and margin requirements.
This role will cover diverse areas across banks, insurers, and financial institutions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities:Assess and understand institutions' strategies and business models.Monitor and benchmark industry risk exposure and regulatory compliance.Provide expert insights for policy development and front-line supervision.Develop analytical methods for risk-based data submissions.Engage with institutions on capital adequacy assessments and thematic risk reviews.Participate in developing and maintaining statutory regulations for risk types.Represent the division in domestic and international regulatory forums.Qualifications and Requirements:Education: Postgraduate Degree in Banking, Data Science, Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics, or a similar field.Experience: 5-8 years in risk management within banking, insurance, or financial regulatory sectors.Skills & Knowledge:In-depth knowledge of local/global markets, financial risk management, and regulatory frameworks.Familiarity with trading, investment, and risk management systems.Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, and programming (Python or R).Advantageous Certifications: CFA, FRM, PRM, or CQF.This role is ideal for someone with a strategic mind.For more information contact:Robyn PeskinSpecialist Recruiter : Actuarial & Analytics
