This position entails assisting the Risk Support Department (RSD) under the Prudential Authority (PA), with a primary focus on overseeing and regulating market risk, equity risk in the banking sector, margin requirements, and counter-party credit risk. Responsibilities: Comprehend the strategies and operational frameworks of institutions within the pertinent contexts relevant to the associated risk categories. Oversee the exposure of the relevant industry to various risk categories. Supervise industry adherence to regulatory frameworks governing said risk categories. Evaluate institutional risk management practices against industry best practices for managing specific risk categories. Assess the efficacy of institutions' internal models in managing specific risk categories. Offer specialized insights into specific risk categories for frontline supervision and policy formulation. Develop analytical methodologies for scrutinizing and interpreting regulatory data submissions based on risk. Participate in assessments of capital adequacy and own fund requirements. Contribute to risk-centric meetings involving institutions and their auditors. Conduct thematic reviews addressing specific risk categories. Report to the Risk Support Department (RSD) on aggregate banking behavior concerning specific risk categories. Establish and uphold regulations and directives governing statutory requirements related to specific risk categories. Formulate internal policies and procedures for overseeing specific risk categories. Engage in international and domestic forums pertaining to the formulation of regulations concerning specific risk categories. Ensure comprehensive awareness and comprehension across the Prudential Authority (PA) regarding concepts and advancements in the realm of specific risk categories. Qualifications: Post-graduate Degree in Mathematics and Statistics, Banking, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science or another pertinent post-graduate Degree with a quantitative emphasis. Advantageous: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA); Financial Risk Manager (FRM); Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF); and/or completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program or another applicable graduate-level qualification in management. Work Experience Required: 5 to 8 years' experience in banking, insurance or relevant sector in a risk-type position.
