DescriptionJob Summary:The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting product to specifications and making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality specifications.Shift Times: 2nd and 3rd shift onlyBe open to shift work hours tbdDuties/Responsibilities:Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipmentOperate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stopsCommunicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materialsAdjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product.Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature.Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, fix, document, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.Sort, weigh, and inspect products, verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement to meet specifications.Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides.Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams.Start machine by engaging controls.Count and record finished and rejected packaged items.Performs other related duties as requested.RequirementsRequired Skills/Abilities:Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized procedures and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environmentMechanical and troubleshooting aptitudeAttention to safety, quality, and efficiencyBasic math skillsStrong problem-solving skillsWilling to perform repetitive tasks for extended periodsEducation and Experience:High School Diploma or G.E.DExperience at making mechanical adjustment to equipment.Experience at running machines that packages product.Experience with filler machines preferred.Physical Requirements:Ability to maintain focus and situational awareness.Must be able to move and lift up to 40-pounds.Able to sit and stand for long periods of time.Must be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, climb, kneel and twist.
