VML is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Managing Director to lead our integrated business. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our Durban office, driving growth, and fostering a culture of excellence. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a deep understanding of the marketing landscape, strong client management skills, and a passion for developing high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Define and execute the strategic vision for the integrated Durban/JHB office, aligning with VML's overall business objectives.
Drive revenue growth and profitability for the offices.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Client Partnership
Cultivate and manage relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
Lead client engagements, ensuring exceptional service delivery and exceeding client expectations.
Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing accounts.
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver integrated marketing solutions that meet client needs.
Team Development
Lead, inspire, and mentor a high-performing team of marketing professionals.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
Identify and develop talent within the team, providing opportunities for growth and development.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the office.
Business Development
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with VML's strategic goals.
Develop compelling proposals and presentations that showcase VML's capabilities and value proposition.
Lead pitch teams and participate in client presentations.
Build and maintain a strong network of industry contacts.
Desired Skills and Experiences
Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a Managing Director/Managing Partner role within a marketing agency or related field.
Stellar reputation within the industry, recognized for thought leadership and impactful work.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful business strategies.
Exceptional client management skills, with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&Ls.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Inspiring leadership style with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
Passion for the marketing industry and a deep understanding of current trends and best practices.
