pacemakers to petroleum refining.Job DescriptionJob responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Ensure consolidation, alignment, and integration of discipline inputs into site 5-year plan and provide key technical input on production strategy, resource optimisation, maintenance plans, shutdown plans, risk management plans, mine design and equipment performance.Effectively integrates and aligns Technical Services objectives with corporate, operational and Project objectives.Monitors that agreed and approved mine plans and schedules are executed to achieve a high compliance delivery to plan.Liaises and co-ordinates between the project contractors' management teams, the project EPC and owner resourced team + other site teams to ensure effective engagement, planning and execution of work.Review past performance to inform planning inputs and define root cause analyses to investigate key areas as needed.Assess monthly and quarterly technical performance against KPIs and communicate results to GM and Discipline at BU level.Align with GM and BU Mining Technical function on planned and existing business improvement projects & opportunities.Ensure sufficient physical resources are available on site to deliver integrated operational plan.Put systems in place to ensure safe and sustainable execution of technical, planning and business improvement activities on site.Ensure integration, analysis, and continuous optimisation of technical inputs into the OMS.Lead implementation of Anglo-American systems and provide governance to ensure process quality.Oversee execution of process changes and ensure that the change management process is followed including appropriate stakeholder engagement.Act as the technical advisor to the Operational Managers and ensure sufficient technical support for operational Mining teams.Ensure that tactical planning and scheduling, dispatch, drill and blast, business improvement projects and mine design integrate across all disciplines (both technical and other) to ensure an executable operational management plan.Ensure creation, pressure-testing and continuous updating of mine designs to inform technical and operational planning.Ensure that technical risks are appropriately monitored, identified, addressed, integrated into site risk register and escalated as required.Undertake reconciliations across technical & operational processes to identify opportunities for improvements.Ensure consideration and use of insights from risk management processes and controls.Proactively identify technical challenges and opportunities that new technology could address.Define challenges, opportunities, and impact within and beyond technical work.Actively seek expert input from BU subject matter experts who lead solution design.Implement a purpose-driven, high-performing culture that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity, supports engagement and fosters continuous improvement to work processes.This role is at a band 5 level reporting to the General Manager Mogalakwena Underground.QualificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline (preferably Mining Engineering).Experience, Knowledge and Skills5+ years' experience managing technical services functions such as Mineral Resource/Geology/Survey/Geotechnical/Mine Planning/Drill & Blast.10 + years' experience in underground hard rock mining engineering site.Technical and management experience that demonstrates successful application of underground mining engineering fundamentals, Safety, Technical Leadership and Operational mining systems.Computer literacy to navigate through mine scheduling and spatial/GIS software.Knowledge and understanding of Mining laws, regulations, codes of practice and guidelines essential.Technical Support and practical experience in modern, mechanised Underground mines in both project development and construction as well as steady state operation.Technical experience in med-large scale massive mining methods such as Caving or Open Stoping preferred.Ability to coach, mentor and lead teams to establish a high-performance work culture, supporting a learning and skills development environment.Knowledge and application of Project Management concepts, including Cost Control, Project Risk Management and Document & Data Management.Adequate experience to support a best practice underground mechanised mine and know how to co-ordinate and set up systems and resources to support safe, effective and efficient mining.Understand underground mobile equipment performance and how to operationally support best practice reliability centred maintenance teams.Ability to constructively challenge mine contractor performance and introduce modern practices and operating methodologies/standards.Additional InformationValid EB/Code 08 driver's licence.Medical certificate of fitness.Work on site at Mine operation will be required.
