This position will be based in Cape Town and will report to the National Manager: Merit Motor Claims.PURPOSEThe purpose of the role will be to manage the team of Motor Merit Field Assessors responsible for investigation component of suspicious and potential fraudulent claims.
Ensuring that all flagged and segmented Motor Claims are comprehensively investigated to achieve conclusive results and co-ordinating all claims investigation efforts and all other relevant stakeholders e.g.
Forensic Services, Insurance Crime Bureau (SAICB).JOB DESCRIPTIONManages and leads a team of Merit Claims AssessorsEnsure on-going development of resource by mentoring, guidance and both formal and informal training.Ensuring effective management of high quality standards.Reporting on effective management of claims.Drive customer centricity in line with the Santam way.Prioritise, allocate, manage and monitor investigation of high merit risk claims.Effective merit claims investigation of appropriate quality.Consultation with clients, Third parties, Business and Business Partners on a continuous basis.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEMatric/Grade 12Degree in Legal or Forensic Qualification will be advantageousAdvanced knowledge of short term insurance industryRelevant experience in the investigation of fraudulent claimsManagement experience in a similar environment.SKILLSComputer Literate (MS Office Package)Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)Negotiating skillsStrong interviewing skills, capacity to influence and win confidenceProject management skills (delegation, monitoring)Strong people management skillsInterpersonal skills (work in a team or independently)Problem solving abilities & abilities to make decisionsStrong analytical abilities and evaluate trends objectivelyConflict management skillsABOUT THE COMPANYSantam is the market leader in the general insurance industry in Southern Africa.
