Business Segment: Personal & Private BankingResponsibilitiesProvide strategic event marketing guidance to business and marketing managers, ensuring events deliver against business objectives, are benchmarked against global best practice and deliver the desired brand experience.Formulate an in-depth understanding of marketing strategies and business requirements to ensure the team effectively utilizes events as a platform for the attainment of business objectives.Ensure global best practice and trends are applied in the methodology of eventing.Proactively advise marketing managers on eventing opportunities as well as threats in the business event marketing arena.Ensure that events deliver against the brand DNA and branding guidelines.Maintain collaborative working relationships with business, marketing and internal and external service providers.Ensure communication of eventing, compliance and procurement guidelines and adherence thereof.Manage and maintain event marketing calendar.Analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the current structures and processes and improve on these.Ensure that standards set for event management are maintained and applied to all forms of events held.Ensure that all external and internal events are aligned with the business unit's marketing calendar and business objectives and that sponsorship properties and marketing activities are effectively leveraged to the benefit of the business and the brand.Provide advice to the business regarding the research and planning of events to ensure the most appropriate and cost-effective solution in line with business needs and budget constraints.Cost control and budget management of factors managed within the team.Pre and post evaluation reporting in order to track trends, improve on management, quality and standards.Ensure the effective delivery and roll-out of events.QualificationsMatric or equivalent.Tertiary qualification in Marketing (Bachelor's degree preferable).Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) and typing skills.English literacy and writing skills.Business acumen and financial budgeting skills.Excellent customer and delivery orientation.Relationship management skills.Experience RequiredMinimum of 10 years' experience in conferencing and events marketing and management preferably in agency and corporate.Project management experience would be an advantage.Understanding of the financial services environment would be advantageous.International experience would be advantageous.ConditionsTravel required? (Where to and how often)The incumbent will be required to travel periodically to various events across the globe. Frequency will be dependent on budgets and event calendar.Special Skills RequiredInterpersonal skills.Communications skills.Ability to perform well under pressure.Ability to operate in a multi-functional team structure.
