To be part of the journey, follow the steps below: To see what life at Capitec is all about and complete a short assessment, please click here!Once you have completed the above finalize your application by clicking apply belowResponsibilitiesTo minimise legal risks relating to Collections and Recoveries through:Assuming responsibility and full ownership for the planning and day-to-day management of the Operational Risk Support function.Supporting the wider Collections and Recoveries Department with complex escalations.Managing the audit and civil court order team within Recoveries and Collections.Managing and guiding the ARL (Allegations of Reckless Lending) portfolio.ExperienceMinimum: 4 - 5 years in an audit, or operational risk, or debt management environmentBanking experience and working with credit granting and affordability assessmentsExperience working with court orders, legal documents/ legal experienceExperience in audit and risk management (understand audit processes/ worked with internal audit)Debt Review (understand the process/ know reckless lending)External Debt Collections processes and working alongside attorneys/ debt collectorsPolicy and procedure drafting / complaints / escalationsDealing with general queries/escalations (e.g. prescription, in-Duplum, Debt Sale.)Comfortable with authorising paymentsExperience in engaging with vendors or debt counsellorsIdeal: 5+ years in an audit, or operational risk, or debt management environmentExperience in working with other business stakeholders in an integrating mannerQualifications (Minimum)Bachelor's Degree in Law or CommerceQualifications (Ideal or Preferred)Post Graduate Diploma in Law or CommerceKnowledgeMinimum: Prescription and debt sales and working alongside a legal teamUnderstanding risk and control and risk self-assessmentsUnderstanding, identification and guiding key operational risk indicatorsUnderstanding of civil processUnderstanding of banking reckless lendingIdeal: Data and analyticsKnowledge of relevant software programs (Salesforce, Amazon, JIRA, Confluence)SkillsCommercial Thinking SkillsCommunications SkillsPlanning, organising and coordination skillsConditions of EmploymentClear criminal and credit recordCapitec is committed to diversity and, where feasible, all appointments will support the achievement of our employment equity goals.
