Job Advert Summary
The PPS Advice and Distribution business is looking for an individual to hold a portfolio of three key functions.

Thought Leadership through critical thinking, solution development and bespoke design for all channels.
Strategic direction to all External Distribution teams on Investments, including delivery of packaged thought leadership solutions for Brokers and IFA's.
Building investment capability within Internal Distribution through engagements, training, practice management and delivery of target-based outcomes to meet business stretch goals.
Supporting the Wealth Advisory business with delivery of bespoke advice capability and thought leadership to enable penetration of new markets and HNW segments with business outcomes of increasing Gross Flows and Assets under Advice.

The focus of this job is to design strategies for the different channels, oversee implementation through Investment Specialists, Broker Consultants and internal Financial Advisors and Wealth Managers. Building relationships at all levels of A&D to drive business growth, results driven outcomes and equipping channels with strategies and tools to take to market.
The work involves driving toward results by enrolling the commitment and buy-in of others. While the job requires strong initiative and self-direction, results are only achieved with and through people.
Minimum Requirements
Education:

Related tertiary qualification(s) essential
CFP and/or investments related honours degree an advantage
RE5

Systems Knowledge:

MS Office – specifically a good understanding of both PowerPoint and Excel
CRM experience

Experience:

6 years' business development or sales experience within Financial Services
Experience in Insurance product sales or advice as well as the investment / asset management industry
Discretionary Fund Manager's and/or multi management experience would be advantageous
5+ years' experience managing people
Proven track record in people management and leading a sales team
Proven track record in achieving sales targets
The establishment of a good network and collaborative relationships with the broker space to support the achievement of sales targets
Experience in design, research and written thought leadership strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities
Thought Leadership

Provide strategic insight by continually researching global trends around methodology, solutions, pricing, value proposition, segmentation and service strategies.
Optimization of member outcomes by understanding trends and changes in the financial planning market.
Detailed understanding and in-depth knowledge of Tax, legislation, product and advice to tailor client outcomes which are then embedded into best practice and frameworks.
This role will enable new client acquisition and existing client cross sell.
Research on global trends and changes within the financial services capability to ensure PPS A&D remains relevant and cutting edge.
Provide Product developments and enhancements by collaboration with product houses based on emerging globally trends.
Define and implement an approach across all practice areas, integrating the full range of services, showcasing the knowledge and expertise.
Contribute to setting the direction and strategy through Thought Leadership.
Engage in discussions with industry stakeholders.
Develop and implement a simple, high-impact manner of communicating Thought-Leadership outputs (internally and externally).
A key member of the Advice Council within A&D to approve and implement in conjunction with Distribution Heads and Best Practice.

Commercial management

Develop strategies/initiatives to unlock sales opportunities within and across all channels.
Manage a budget and expenditure and logistics of a decentralized office.
Accountable to deliver annual Investment profitability through the channels and in conjunction with Heads of Channels and Senior Management, partnering with PPSI to enable these outcomes.
Support projects and campaigns, with the ability to deliver presentations within regions on at least a quarterly basis, including both roadshows and smaller events.
Work with the Positioning and Intelligence PPSI heads, A&D Head of Channel Development and Enablement and the A&D Exco, to ensure that the distribution & engagement process, including CRM activity, data analysis and intermediary positioning information is in line with the annual and quarterly plan for the Investment Specialists, Broker Consultants.

Stakeholder management

Manage a team of Investment Specialists, towards a specific target in terms of both activity and flows within the Internal Distribution and Wealth Advisory business.
External Distribution focus is to actively engage with, and build long-term strong relationships with key business partners, associations, stakeholders, intermediaries including high net worth intermediaries to achieve objectives.
Quarterly training and development of the External Distribution Broker Consultants and Investment Specialists in order to support their Broker Consultants, Investment Specialists and support staff.

People and Culture

Lead, motivate and drive performance of the teams including internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure a positive team culture by optimizing staff engagement levels and team effectiveness.
Hire, develop and manage people in alignment with company objectives, values and culture.
Design, implement and monitor corrective action to address shortcomings in achieving sales objectives.
