We are searching for an experienced Manager: Business Development.About the role:The core purpose of the role is to manage growth efforts by ensuring that processes, engagement, and related activities per distribution channel type result in Medihelp achieving its strategic growth targets.Type of appointment: External candidates who do not meet all the fit and proper requirements will be appointed on a fixed-term contract for a maximum period of six months. Internal candidates who do not meet the requirements will be appointed for a probation period of a maximum of six months. Progress will be monitored, and if, after six months, the requirements are not met, the candidate's service will be terminated.PLEASE NOTE: The incumbent will render advice and must, therefore, comply with the requirements of the FAIS Act and related Board Notices. The successful candidate will be granted a maximum of six months to complete the following: Class of Business Training (3 days' training), Product Specific Training (3 days' training), and accreditation as a broker (to be facilitated) before confirmation of appointment/permanent appointment.Essential functions of the job:Ensure that business development consultants and sales agents focus on achieving their sales targets.Negotiate underwriting and other concession agreements to support growth in collaboration with Network & Analytics and Enterprise Risk Management.Maximise the return on investment of leads by engaging with and ensuring synergy between the Marketing team and internal and external stakeholders.Manage leads conversion rate to contribute to growth.Present Medihelp to potential clients and present during the national launch of products to the distribution channel.Ensure that employees are trained and equipped to fulfil their roles and responsibilities.Ensure stringent FAIS-compliant processes and record-keeping are in place and reported to the key individual monthly.Liaise and build relationships with distribution channel stakeholders proactively and in a structured manner.Liaise with key role players and stakeholders within identified markets and the industry to promote Medihelp with a view to growing the business and establishing long-term relationships.Ensure effective system support to reach the strategic goals.Draft, review, and negotiate with all third-party service providers to ensure delivery of services required.Ensure adherence to service level agreements with third-party providers.Negotiate intermediary agreements with brokers, financial advisors, and healthcare consultants.Negotiate sales targets and performance with intermediaries linked to formal agreements.Ensure adherence to all legislative and regulatory prescripts.Manage a team of broker development consultants (BDCs) across the country, including the broker distribution network that supports the broker development consultants, and manage stakeholder relations.Qualification and Experience:Grade 12, with a three-year tertiary FAIS-compliant degree or diploma.RE5Must have the following additional fit and proper requirements:- Class of Business Training.- Product Specific Training; and- Accreditation as a broker in terms of the Medical Schemes Act.Eight years relevant experience, including a successful track record of growth results or demonstrated potential to achieve growth results.Skills and Knowledge:Skilled in using MS OfficeGood verbal and written communication skillsA valid driver's licence and own transportAble to perform well under pressureGood interpersonal relationsBusiness insightsGood problem-solving skillsPresentableKnowledge of the following:Medical Schemes Act 131 of 1998Project planning and processesMedihelp strategic planFinancial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act 37 of 2002 (FAIS Act)Healthcare industry and competitor offeringMarketing and sales principles and strategyDistribution channel marketingSelected candidates on the shortlist will be expected to undergo a full selection process.
