Job Title: Manager Business Development FintechJob Description: As our Manager of Business Development Fintech, you will help Sage identify, develop and manage strategic Fintech partnerships so that we can integrate best-in-class payment and banking solutions into our core software offerings, enabling scalable growth and new revenue opportunities.Every day you will work with internal and external stakeholders to drive forward new and existing revenue opportunities within the Fintech space.By excelling in this role, you'll directly contribute to Sage's ability to deliver innovative Fintech solutions that empower our customers and accelerate business growth.This hybrid role requires a minimum of three days per week on-site at our Johannesburg office.Key Responsibilities:Establish High-Value Fintech Partnerships: Secure new partnerships and optimize existing ones to enhance Sage's product ecosystem and meet evolving market demands.Drive Revenue Growth: Achieve defined revenue, customer acquisition, and payment volume targets through strategic partner collaborations and effective GTM initiatives.Deliver Seamless Integrations: Ensure partner solutions are deeply embedded into Sage's products to create a unified user experience.Enhance Customer Value: Introduce innovative financial tools that address customer pain points, streamline workflows, and improve financial management.Priorities:Develop and Execute Partnership Strategies: Identify market opportunities, select high-potential partners, and negotiate agreements that balance Sage's short and long-term objectives.Optimize Existing Partnerships: Ensure contractual commitments are met by both parties, including product enhancements, service level standards, and operational performance.Enable Market Success: Work with sales and marketing teams to design and execute effective GTM plans that maximize customer adoption of fintech solutions.Stay Ahead of Market Trends: Maintain subject matter expertise in the fintech landscape to guide strategic decisions and anticipate customer needs.First 90 Days Overview:Learn the Business: Understand Sage's fintech strategy, partnerships, and internal systems while building key relationships.Onboarding Support: Collaborate with your manager and team, and complete the Sage onboarding program.Analyse and Strategize: Identify gaps and opportunities in partnerships, analyse market trends, and contribute to product and go-to-market plans.Deliver Results: Propose strategic improvements and develop a 6-12 month roadmap for fintech partnerships with clear objectives.Who you will be working with: This team operates at the intersection of strategy, technology, and customer success, playing a critical role in positioning Sage as a leader in fintech innovation. The team also works across all Sage Products and Geos to deliver revenue opportunities through Fintech strategy.Minimum Requirements:Undergraduate or equivalent experience required. 5+ years of work experience in consulting & Fintech.Demonstrable delivery record in a consultancy/strategy or project-oriented business environment with strong analytical skills.B2B payments solutions – domestic and international – knowledge and experience.Payments fintech sector knowledge and experience e.g. prior experience working with a Fintech disrupter preferably in the B2B segment.Experience in defining, implementing and managing Partner business development and management strategies in a multinational, high tech company.Subject Matter Expert in Fintech (Payments, Banking, Embedded Finance, Expense Mgmt).Accounting and payroll product experience preferred.Integrated and cloud-based technology solutions.Benefits: This role offers exposure to the dynamic and ever-changing fintech landscape, requiring constant adaptability and driving innovation in strategic partnerships.
