This involves verifying that the software meets specified requirements, functions as intended, and is free from defects.The Manager - Automated Tester will work closely with the General Manager – Testing to create a comprehensive test plan that outlines the overall testing strategy, objectives, scope, and schedule.The Manager - Automated Tester would also play a vital role in detecting and reporting software defects. Contribute to identifying test scenarios, designing test cases, and determining appropriate testing techniques within the agile framework.Execute manual and automated tests to verify the functionality and quality of the software. This includes running test cases, recording test results, and reporting any defects or issues discovered during testing. Adhere to the agile development cycle and actively participate in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.Document and track software defects using a bug tracking system. Collaborate with developers and senior testers to reproduce and debug defects, ensuring their resolution and retesting. Provide clear and detailed information about identified issues, including steps to reproduce, expected behavior, and actual behavior.Collaborate closely with the development team, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify issues, and ensure alignment. Actively participate in team discussions, provide regular updates on testing progress, and effectively communicate test results and findings to facilitate collaboration and problem-solving.Promote and facilitate test automation. Identify suitable areas for automation and collaborate with the development team to develop and maintain automated test scripts. Ensure the effective use of test automation frameworks and tools.Seek opportunities to enhance testing processes, methodologies, and tools within the agile environment. Contribute ideas and suggestions for improving testing efficiency, effectiveness, and overall software quality. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging practices in software testing to continuously improve skills and knowledge.Create and maintain test artifacts, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts. Generate test reports that provide insights into the quality of the software under test, including metrics and key performance indicators. Ensure proper documentation of testing activities and outcomes for future reference.Foster effective collaboration and communication within the testing team.Ensure compliance with testing standards, regulatory requirements, and industry-specific guidelines. Collaborate with auditors and compliance teams to ensure that the testing process adheres to necessary standards and regulations.Adapt to changing requirements, priorities, and project timelines. Be open to learning new technologies, methodologies, and tools as the software development landscape evolves. Demonstrate flexibility in supporting the team's needs and taking on additional responsibilities as required.QualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics and CommunicationPost graduate degree in Computer Science/Networks and/or equivalent professional qualification (Preferred)Experience:4+ years of relevant working experience1-2 years of experience in Automated and Manual Testing activitiesExperience in emerging telecom-based software technology (Preferred to have)Expertise in testing methodologies & frameworks, design patterns, and best practicesStrong knowledge of telecom systems, protocols, and industry standards (Preferred)Skills:Proficient in test executionProficiency in entire Java technology stack backed by multiple projects and visible accomplishmentsProficient in tools such as JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM, or similar platformsProficiency in using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling for load testing, stress testing, and performance profilingUnderstanding of defect managementComprehensive knowledge of automated testing frameworksExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on delivering robust and scalable solutionsRequired SkillsAnalytical skills, Automated testing frameworks, Defect management, JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM, or similar platforms, JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling, Java technology stack, Problem-solving skills, Test execution.About UsWe are a purpose and value-led organization.At MTN, we believe that understanding our people's needs and aspirations is key to creating experiences that delight you at work, every day.
