OneCart is looking to hire a Management Accountant. The role's main purpose is to ensure accurate and reliable reporting of the Income Statement. To be proactive in looking for value opportunities, improving commercial competence, and ensuring compliance with all audit requirements.Accountant ManagementFinancial operational support – Support Marketplace and HO operations teamsBe the Operations and Finance Manager's financial support personMonitor Marketplace and WW Dash operational processes and be proactive with suggestionsReview Marketplace and Woolies Dash analysis of P&L via benchmarkingPerform monthly financial reviews with Operations, and provide insights into variances for further follow-upEnsure financial compliance with general frameworks, policies and proceduresEnsure monthly P&L is complete and accurate for the business unitProvide detailed explanations for variances against last year, plan and forecastPrepare and present at monthly flash meetings to CFO and Financial ManagerUnderstand all accounts in P&L e.g. how they interface and nature of accountsDetermine whether allocation methods used between departments are optimumReview all journal entries processed prior to closing the month-end to ensure accuracyPrepare and own management accounts, trading report and quarterly reports for the business unitEnsure compliance in terms of internal audit controls, external audit, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other laws and regulationsCollaborate with FPA team and fellow teams in control to share best practicesPreparation of tax and statutory packs as requiredEnsure compliance with all levels of Anti-Corruption rulesEnsure compliance by the teams for Vendor master dataBe the Vendor Management BPOTrain Marketplace and OC Dash as and when required on various accounting principlesAssist Financial Manager with all adhoc requestsReportingPreparation of information required for monthly reportingManage and own all Woolies Dash and Marketplace specific reportsEnsure the accurate maintenance of all financial reportsEffective teamwork and Self-ManagementMaintain a positive attitudeTake ownership of driving your career development (skills and knowledge)Plan and prioritize, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands to achieve agreed deliverablesCommunicate effectively, maintain relationshipsFollow any lawful and reasonable instruction from your line managerAct as part of the Financial team by assisting other members of the team to achieve common goalsConsistently live and be an example of the Company's valuesTimely reporting of all instances of suspected or proven fraud via the appropriate reporting channelAdherence to the company policies and associated company policies and proceduresCompetencies & SkillsStrong interpersonal skills in order to communicate with internal associates and senior managementGoal driven and a team playerAbility to work under pressureEffective time managementPrioritizing tasksTeam OrientedAbility to work with speed and accuracyAnalytical and problem-solving abilityAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionMinimum Academic, Professional Qualifications and Experience required for this positionMinimum of 2 years relevant experience in a Management Accountant roleMinimum 3 years of management or supervisory experiencePreferably studying towards CIMAComputer literacy in the following applications:SAPExcel at mastery levelMS WordEssbaseWorking conditionA balance in Hybrid and Office work modelYou may be required to work overtime from time to time to meet agreed deadlines
