Management Accounting and Budget Management
Implement the required policies and procedures in the context of the area of responsibility.
Maintain effective budget process under the guidance of the Senior Manager.
Maintain controls required for effective and accurate month-end closure in the context of the area of responsibility (closure of the income and expenses with the required degree of detail).
Maintain controls required for effective and accurate year-end closure within the area of responsibility (closure of the income and expenses with the required degree of detail).
Produce complete, accurate and fully reconciled Income statement monthly within the required timelines and with the required degree of detail.
Ensure appropriate accuracy and integrity of accounting data and accounting systems in the context of the area of responsibility.
Effectively implement and maintain costing and cost allocation models within the business.
Implement and maintain controls required to ensure revenue maximization and cost minimization for the organization.
Management Reporting
Maintain the required policies and procedures in the context of the area of responsibility.
Maintain controls required for effective and accurate management reporting.
Maintain effective budget reporting and budget reconciliations process.
Maintain effective income statement forecast models and income forecasts reporting.
Maintain all required external business/financial reporting on behalf of the Finance department. Specifically, timeously and accurately report to funding institutions and external business partners.
Determine the areas requiring improvements and implement the required changes.
Implement and maintain effective data reconciliation process in the context of the area of responsibility.
Provide required inputs for CEO and CFO reports.
Assisting with Risk Management and Compliance
Prepare inputs for the risk register for the area of responsibility.
Ensure full tax compliance within the area of responsibility.
Ensure compliance with the Corporate Risk Programme within the area of responsibility.
Maintain controls required for the full Companies Act and CIPC compliance within the area of responsibility.
Comply with all legal requirements.
Assisting with Governance and Administration
Facilitate compliance with Companies Act and applicable governance frameworks.
Ensure that all reporting complies with legal requirements.
Ensure the effective and accurate compliance with all legal requirements; policies and procedures and rules and regulations of key bodies.
Strategic Contribution on the Divisional and Area of Accountability Level
Understand and actively implement the organizational and divisional strategy.
Provide continuous inputs and effectively advocate for the area of responsibility in the context of organizational and divisional strategy.
Effectively implement organizational and divisional strategy for the area of responsibility.
Actively participate in all divisional meetings and projects.
Promote the spirit of collaboration and strive to achieve maximum inter-area and interdivisional synergies in the context of organization strategy implementation and in the context of the area of responsibility.
