The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Accounts Payable Manager.Job Purpose:To ensure accurate payments are processed to suppliers in accordance with agreed contractual terms; and provide accurate, timeous and relevant financial information to facilitate decision-making.Job Objectives:Manage the reporting and payment processes.Support the Accounts Payable Manager in overseeing the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable function.Ensure that financial transactions are processed accurately and on time.Lead the month-end closing and internal and external auditing processes.Enforce standards of compliance for accounts payable processes.Investigate and resolve accounts payable issues as required.Ensure general ledger and vendor accounts are reconciled and reconciling differences are resolved within the required timelines, thereby minimising exposure to the Group.Ensure all documentation processed complies with relevant VAT legislation.Accurately plan and forecast supplier payments on a monthly and annual basis to facilitate forecasting of cash resources required.Create and maintain accounts payable processes and procedures.Build strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues.Provide coaching and mentoring to staff and ensure they are adequately trained to perform their functions within the Accounts Payable Department.Maintain terms and conditions of internal and external service level agreements to ensure that these are met consistently.Qualifications and Experience:B.Com Accounting Degree with Major Subjects Accounting 3 (essential).B.Com Honours in Related Subjects (desirable).1 to 3 Years Accountant with Accounts Payable Management experience (essential).Skills, Abilities and Job Related Knowledge:Exposure to retail operations and stock receipting processes.Knowledge of Group Accounting Methodology.Knowledge of Accounts Payable Accounting.Knowledge of Staff Development Principles.Knowledge of Performance Management Principles.Communication and report writing skills.Analysing and diagnosing skills.Negotiation and interpersonal skills.Deciding and Initiating Action.Leading and Supervising.Adhering to Principles and Values.Analysing.Planning and Organising.Delivering Results and Meeting Customer Expectations.Following Instructions and Procedures.Entrepreneurial and Commercial Thinking.
