About Supported Living Services :
SLS (Supported Living Services Ltd) offers housing support for adults with mental health and learning difficulties. We seek an experienced, motivated candidate to join the team, providing excellent client care and support. Our goal is to deliver recovery-focused services, helping users integrate into the community and lead fulfilling lives.
Responsibilities of Support Worker:
Assess residents' mental health needs and offer emotional support.
Collaborate on personalised mental health care plans for residents.
Respond to and manage crises, providing immediate support.
Maintain accurate records of resident interactions and progress.
Advocate for residents, ensuring their healthcare needs are met.
Provide information on mental health, treatment options, and coping strategies.
Support residents in daily activities, including room tidying.
Work closely with healthcare professionals for comprehensive care.
Encourage and guide residents in healthy self-care practices.
Carry out assessments, including risk assessments, for new residents.
Participate in the on-call rota.
Deliver specialist training and conduct annual appraisals.
Create a positive and supportive environment for residents.
The ideal candidate will:
Be non-judgemental, forward-thinking, and passionate about mental health.
Possess empathy, reliability, and trustworthiness, demonstrating patience and positivity in their consistent care for residents.
Have a good understanding of mental illness gained through work, volunteering or personal experience.
Have good communication, organisational and IT skills.
Be highly motivated and committed to improving our service users' experience.
Be available to work on a 24/7 rota including waking nights.
Have RQF Level 3 (desirable).
Enhanced DBS Check is required.
DBS:Candidates not on the DBS Update Service will have to meet the cost for an Enhanced DBS Check.
