Maitre D / Front of House required for a reputable hospitality company based in East London , Eastern CapeRequirements:Good understanding of the hospitality industrySupervising the waiting staffWelcoming guests in a friendly mannerTaking reservationsOverseeing the service of food and beverages to guestsAssigning tablesAble to work shifts (day, night, Sundays, public holidays)Responsibilities:Managing Reservations: Taking and organizing reservations, ensuring the restaurant is appropriately booked for each service period.Greeting Guests: Welcoming guests as they arrive, ensuring they feel valued and attended to from the moment they enter.Seating Arrangements: Assigning tables to guests according to their preferences, ensuring efficient use of seating capacity.Coordinating with Service Staff: Liaising between the kitchen and the dining room staff to ensure smooth communication and service flow.Handling Guest Concerns: Addressing any issues or special requests from guests to ensure a positive dining experience.Maintaining Dining Room Atmosphere: Overseeing the ambiance and cleanliness of the dining area, ensuring it meets the restaurant's standards.Training and Supervision: Training new host/hostess staff on procedures and protocols, and supervising their performance during service.Managing Wait Times: Ensuring guests are seated promptly and efficiently during busy periods, managing waitlists effectively.Up-selling and Promotion: Recommending specials, promotions, or additional services to guests to enhance their experience and increase revenue.Handling Payments: Occasionally processing payments and ensuring accurate billingsShould you wish to apply please email your CV through to Kerry O'Hagan at ****** shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
