Join a leading EPC contractor specializing in engineered solutions for the water and wastewater treatment industry as a Maintenance Technician/Supervisor, based in Gauteng.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment equipment.
This role involves supervising contractors, leading maintenance teams, and performing technical fault-finding and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
A Trade Test certification as a Millwright is preferred, although candidates with certifications as Turner/Fitter or Electrician will also be considered.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within the water and wastewater treatment industry, is required.
A valid driver's license is essential as the position includes the use of a company vehicle.
Candidates must be willing to travel both locally and internationally and be medically fit to work in diverse environments, including confined spaces, at heights, and in various outdoor conditions.

DutiesPreventative maintenance and risk managementDevelop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.Lead, train, and develop maintenance staff to enhance team capabilities.Promote safety, reliability, and operational excellence within the maintenance team.Contribute to the development and updating of risk assessments for maintenance tasks.Develop critical spares lists.Troubleshooting and repairsConduct troubleshooting and repairs on systems such as: -Telemetry and control systems - -Motor control centres (LV switchgear and installations)Variable speed drives (VSDs), blowers, compressors, and pumpsResolve technical issues related to electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems.Installation, commissioning, and maintenanceSupervise and assist contractors with installing, maintaining, and repairing treatment plant equipment.Lead the commissioning of plants and equipment, ensuring adherence to installation programs and procedures.Oversee and take part in preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
