In this crucial role, you'll be the hero behind the scenes, ensuring the flawless operation of a luxurious lodge. You'll maintain a wide range of equipment and facilities, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free experience for guests and staff. Your proactive approach and ability to tackle diverse challenges will be essential in keeping the lodge running at peak performance.The maintenance team will start the day with a meeting with the General Manager to update on the day's program. At the end of the day, you will provide a defect report on all completed and in-progress tasks. You are required to inform management of any assistance needed to complete your duties to ensure a quick and efficient turnaround time.Key Roles and Responsibilities:Preventative Maintenance:Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan for all lodge facilities and equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, swimming pools, hot tubs, generators, and security systems.Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems before they occur.Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of all equipment.Reactive Maintenance:Diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of maintenance issues within the lodge.Repair and maintain lodge facilities and equipment, ensuring efficient functionality.Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs when necessary.Guest and Staff Support:Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests, ensuring all issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.Maintain a clean and well-maintained lodge environment, addressing any cosmetic repairs that may arise.Inventory Management:Maintain an inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.Order necessary supplies to ensure seamless operations.Minimum Requirements:5+ years' experience in a similar role.Electrical Certification essential.Strong maintenance skills, including experience with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.A trade in one of the maintenance disciplines is preferred.Strong organizational, communication, administration, and stock control skills.Stable employment history and contactable references.Proven maintenance management experience in a 4* or 5* establishment - Essential.Strong technical skills with the ability to perform various repairs and maintenance tasks.Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.Ability to work independently and under pressure.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Who You Are:Signs You'd Be a Good Fit:You thrive under pressure.You require minimal support.You are adaptable to change.You enjoy learning new things.You love living in the bush.You are highly organized.People love working for you and will follow you where you go.Signs You Will Not Be a Good Fit:You are unable to work without constant direction.You require extensive written policies providing parameters around how you should do things at your job.You do not like to do a task if you think a job is not part of your job description.You struggle with frequent disruption.You don't perform well under pressure.Compensation:Dependent on experience, but will include lodging and meals during time at camp.
