Maintenance Manager PositionOur client, a Fruit Farm in Swellendam/Robertson area, Western Cape, has an opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join their team. The Maintenance Manager is expected to lead the Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facility's infrastructure. Plan and oversee all aspects of the day-to-day running of an allocated workshop and team.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPlan, prioritize, schedule and oversee maintenance duties according to best practices.Regular communication with General Managers regarding requirements, planning and progress.Increase the operational effectiveness, equipment availability and life cycle cost of machinery and equipment through preventative maintenance.Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.Implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and checklists for operators.Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department.Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Maintenance activities.Ensure that machinery and/or equipment are fit for purpose and provide proactive support/solutions when required.Attend meetings and action/communicate instructions.Produce written reports to the General Manager in terms of maintenance actions and costs.Troubleshooting and problem solving.Provide technical expertise to the team.Manage, coach and develop a high-performing maintenance team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.Perform minor maintenance work, including maintenance and repair of machinery, other mechanical equipment, gates, etc.Procurement of equipment and machinery according to company protocols.Desired Experience & QualificationQualified electrician, millwright or fitter and turner (Red Seal).Minimum of 5 to 10 years proven experience in the maintenance and mechanical industry.
