Maintenance Manager, 5 Hotel & Spa, Cape Town*Location: Cape Town, South AfricaSalary: R40,000 – R55,000Benefits: 50% Medical and 50% Pension FundA prestigious 5-star luxury hotel in Cape Town is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Maintenance Manager. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the hotel's maintenance operations, ensuring that the property is impeccably maintained and fully operational to provide an exceptional guest experience.Key Responsibilities:Maintenance Operations: Oversee and manage all maintenance activities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs. Ensure all systems and equipment are in optimal working condition.Team Leadership: Lead, train, and develop the maintenance team to ensure high performance and adherence to safety and quality standards. Foster a positive and productive work environment.Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities.Budget Management: Manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting costs, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all local regulations, health and safety standards, and hotel policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions.Vendor Management: Coordinate and supervise the work of external contractors and vendors. Negotiate contracts and ensure work is completed to the hotel's standards and within budget.Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans for maintenance-related issues. Be on call to address urgent maintenance needs.Minimum Requirements:At least 8 years of experience in maintenance management, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role in a 5-star hotel or luxury establishment.Diploma or degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.Strong technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.Excellent organizational and leadership skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and maintenance management software.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.Please send your cv and references to apply!
