The Maintenance Foreman is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team and ensuring that all equipment, facilities, and machinery are maintained to the highest standard.
This role involves planning, supervising, and executing preventative and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain safety compliance while ensuring operational efficiency.
Responsibilities Manage and supervise a team of technicians, artisans, and support staff.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure the team adheres to safety and company policies.
Develop and implement maintenance schedules (preventive and corrective).
Ensure all work is carried out in line with the maintenance plan.
Prioritize urgent repair requests to minimize disruptions.
Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company standards.
Conduct routine inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
Monitor the performance of machinery and equipment.
Provide technical solutions and recommendations for equipment optimization.
Collaborate with other departments for seamless integration of maintenance activities.
Manage and control the maintenance budget, including procurement of tools and parts.
Evaluate vendor and contractor proposals and oversee third-party maintenance work.
Skills and Qualifications Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in maintenance with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Education: Relevant trade certification or technical diploma in engineering or related fields.
Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication for team and stakeholder interaction.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
Knowledge: Familiarity with safety regulations, compliance standards, and maintenance best practices.
