The core responsibilities of this position include: Statutory responsibility (appointed in terms of section GMR2 (7) in terms of the OHS act) for Hulamin. Execution of tasks required for Statutory compliance in terms of the OHS act. Managing the Planning and Deployment of manpower for the execution of essential maintenance and engineering tasks. Implementation of maintenance strategies. Adherence to Maintenance Engineering best practice standards. Leading complex problem-solving initiatives. Integration of the maintenance effort into process control management systems. Implementing preventative, predictive and cost impacting maintenance systems in the areas of Manpower, Consumption, Spares and Outside Services. Executing and managing specialised engineering projects and management of performance against objectives. Key attributes are: Attention to detail, analytical thinking and the ability to operate in a dynamic and fast changing manufacturing environment. Excellent project management skills and the ability to deliver projects within budget, on time and within specification. A result driven, hands-on generalist with good practical engineering knowledge and experience to lead a front-line team of Technicians and Artisans. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and experience knowledge base. Resilience and persuasiveness, the ability to function in a tough environment, handle stress and pressure and stand your ground when necessary. The core requirements for the position include: Minimum of a BSc or BEng Mechanical degree qualification. A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a Maintenance Engineer role within a manufacturing or similar environment. A Government Compliance Certificate for Factories is a compulsory requirement. It must be obtained within 24 months after the appointment if not held. Considerable interest and a good understanding of a maintenance strategy and planning. Proven maintenance leadership experience and the ability to manage and execute a detailed and complex maintenance plan. Proven track record in heavy and complex plant and equipment maintenance.
