Maintenance Co-Lead

Job Overview:We are seeking a Maintenance Co-Lead to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will not only supervise but actively engage in the day-to-day operations of the resort's maintenance department. With 2-3 years of supervisory experience, ideally in the hospitality industry, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all structures, facilities, and amenities are in top-notch condition. This includes overseeing routine repairs, renovations, and preventative maintenance measures to guarantee the comfort and safety of our guests.Key Responsibilities:Lead and assist the maintenance team in carrying out daily tasks, repairs, and projects.Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, plumbing, and structural issues.Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers when necessary.Implement and uphold safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.Work closely with the resort's Environmental Committee to ensure sustainable and eco-friendly practices are integrated into maintenance operations.Assist in managing the maintenance budget and ensuring cost-effective solutions.Keep maintenance logs and records up to date, ensuring efficient reporting and tracking of all work carried out.Must have:Matric Certificate2-3 years of supervisory experience in maintenance, ideally within hospitality.3-5 years of relevant maintenance experienceBasic knowledge of hand and power tools, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, andbricklayingHands-on experience in electrical, plumbing, and general repair work.Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and manage a small team.Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Fluent in English and Afrikaans is essential
