General description:
The Maintenance Attendant will be responsible primarily to assist the Maintenance Manager with general maintenance and repairs in guest suites, conference venues, restaurant, kitchen, laundry and all other public and office areas. Guest suite and public area entry-level preventative maintenance are included. The maintenance attendant will also perform some basic repairs under supervision of the Maintenance Manager on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, kitchen and laundry equipment.
Essential Duties:
Assist Maintenance Manager with all general maintenance and preventative maintenance in all hotel areas
Regular changing of light bulbs in all hotel areas when needed
Responsible to administer the fly poison program on a regular basis as per the schedule

Responsible to assist Maintenance Manager with all maintenance operations of the hotel, hotel property, conference venues, restaurant, kitchen, laundry and all other public and office areas
Responding promptly to all maintenance concerns
Responsible for the changing of all lightbulbs throughout the as and when required
Assisting the Maintenance Manager to perform and / or monitor maintenance and preventative maintenance projects
Responding to all building related safety concerns
Supports hotel departmental maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly and monthly checks
Assisting the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the guest rooms, public areas, and back of the hotel areas in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and tiling to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel
Clean and maintain all fountains on hotel property
Applying fly poison in designated areas on a regular basis and as per the schedule
Assisting the driver with the loading of all rubbish in the morning in order to be taken to the dump site as and when required
Ensuring that back area of the kitchen that is used for all the rubbish is cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis in order to comply with general hygiene and safety standards
Ensuring that the fat trap is cleaned on a daily basis for both the main- and satellite kitchen
Reporting low stock levels on all Maintenance related stock to Maintenance Manager in order for stock / tools to be replenished
Keeping all mechanical areas in a neat and orderly condition
Ensuring that all maintenance tasks are done in a neat and effective manner
Radio are in a working condition whilst on shift and are effectively used for communication during shift
