This role involves developing and maintaining robust applications for mainframe systems using assembler programming language.

Responsibilities Develop, modify, and maintain mainframe applications based on Assembler programming.
Write, test, debug, and document Assembler programs in accordance with established specifications and coding standards.
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand application requirements, offering technical solutions and recommendations.
Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure applications run efficiently and reliably.
Produce and update technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and release notes.
Engage in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from analysis and design to implementation and post-deployment support.
Ensure seamless integration of mainframe applications with other business systems.
Ensure compliance with security protocols and regulatory standards, particularly in relation to data handling and access control.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mainframe assembler development.
Strong knowledge of assembler programming language and related tools.
Experience with mainframe databases such as DB2 or IMS.
Familiarity with other programming languages such as COBOL or PL/I is a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in debugging and performance tuning for mainframe applications.
Additional: Assembler Language : Extensive expertise in writing, debugging, and maintaining Assembler programs for mainframe systems.
Mainframe Technologies : Proficient in IBM z/OS, JCL (Job Control Language), TSO/ISPF, VSAM, CICS, DB2, and MQ Series.
Performance Tuning : Demonstrated experience in optimizing Assembler programs and resolving performance issues in mainframe applications.
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) : Well-versed in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies for developing mainframe systems.
Batch & Online Processing : Hands-on experience with both batch processing jobs and online transaction processing in a mainframe environment.
COBOL and PL/I : Familiar with other mainframe languages, including COBOL and PL/I.
Database Management : Knowledgeable in DB2 and IMS DB/DC mainframe database environments.
Tools & Utilities : Experienced with mainframe development tools such as Control-M, File-AID, Expeditor, and CA Endevor.
Sector Experience : Familiarity with financial, insurance, or government systems is advantageous.
Project Support Tools : Proficient in using task management and tracking tools like Jira.
