Machine Shop ForemanScope of PositionTo ensure that production in the Machine shop is run efficiently by maintaining and improving the company's current systems.DutiesManaging Machine shop daily OEE.Managing available manpower.
Managing Industrial relations within the machine shop.Working with maintenance to eliminate down time in Machine shop.
Ensuring everyone complies to health and safety regulations in Machine shop Working with Programmer to Continuously improve cycle times.Weekly ERS submissions Chairing and managing Daily MBU meetingAttending and updating Weekly production meetingsEnsuring relevant operator training is conductedDoing 5Y investigations on scrap produced (drive to reduce scrap)Managing tooling in machine shop (controlling cost)Controlling machine cutting Fluids (coolant)Minimum requirements:Matric certificateProduction management diploma/qualification will be an advantage.Organisational skills (office and factory)Strong supervisory skillsMastercam CAD CAM experience essential.Computer literate and skilledMicrosoft office essentialTrade test (beneficial)Must have experience and solid understanding of the workings of a Machine Shop 5 -10 years Working experience in a Workshop environment – preferably heavy engineering/manufacturing of componentsMust have excellent written and verbal communication skillsREPORTING: To the Production ManagerADDITIONAL:While all race groups will be considered, preference will be given to AA/EE South African applicants.Position is based on the East RandSalary market related , dependent on experience.
