SA STEELWORKS - MACHINE SHOP ASSISTANTAIRPORT INDUSTRIA – CAPE TOWN The SA Steelworks Machine Shop requires committed, hardworking and motivated individuals to join their team. The successful applicants will be responsible for, but not limited to General Assistant functions within the Machine Shop Department. RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:To assist with housekeeping in both Machine Shop and Roll assembly Section:Cleaning of bearings and chock blocksCleaning of the floor in Roll Assembly sectionCleaning and lubricating of Milling and Lathe MachinesStoring and cleaning of coupling, bearings and side coversDescaling of Chock Blocks, Top Plates and Tackle boxesProper removal of shavings from machines and placed in designated area ( Rocker Bin)To ensure tools are always clean and placed in its correct place of storageAssisting the Manager / Supervisor with Ad hoc dutiesAdhere to health and safety regulations and instructions and advise the responsible person whenever there are risks identifiedQUALIFYING REQUIREMENTSA minimum Grade 12 certificate QUALIFYING ATTRIBUTESAbility to work in a team environmentAble to work independentlyWillingness to work overtime as per operational requirements if and when requiredAbility to work under challenging physical and climatic conditionsGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to function efficiently in pressurized work situationsIn good health and physically fitMust be of sober habits
