The purpose of this role is to provide support to the Manager Regional Goods & Services on strategic sourcing projects, contributing to the delivery of commercially favourable contracts and delivering optimal value to the Rio Tinto Business Unit.Reporting to the Manager Regional Goods and Services, and working in a collaborative community, you will:Develop and lead the implementation of a comprehensive regional logistics and supply chain management strategy to minimize total cost and maximize value, driving competitive advantage.Actively participate in priority projects related to standardization, reducing waste, and simplifying the way we source and manage logistics across our business in line with our Global Procurement Strategy.Undertake rigorous fact-based development to ensure value realization in the logistics portfolio.Successfully build open and trusting relationships, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.Establish a robust supplier relationship management structure to strengthen partnerships and value creation for both Rio Tinto and our supply partners.What You'll BringTertiary qualification preferred (National Higher diploma or bachelor) in any relevant field e.g. Business/Commerce or Logistics/Supply Chain or similar.Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a commercial/logistics experience or similar environment.Extensive experience in logistics and supply chain management with a strong understanding of processes, practices, and systems.Proven track record of driving efficiency and cost savings in logistics operations.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to constructively influence others and build strong relationships with stakeholders.Effective time management skills and the ability to balance multiple and competing priorities.Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals.Commitment to continuous improvement and staying updated with industry trends and best practices.What We OfferA safety-focused and inclusive working environment.A competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience.Career development & education assistance to further your ambitions.Wellbeing benefits.Generous Rio Tinto employee share program.Employee Assistance Program.Ongoing individual wellbeing support for you and your family for personal and professional matters.Where you'll be workingRio Tinto Global Procurement ensures resilient supply chains that deliver value to the Rio Tinto Group through the strategic sourcing and buying of goods and services for our operations.
