Logistics: Specialist
Role Outline
To lead the strategic analysis, optimization, and implementation of all operational processes and systems within the Consumer & Retail sector, ensuring the operation achieves maximum efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key areas of responsibility include:

Lead the analysis end-to-end operational processes to find efficiencies and create standardisation;
Develop and implement new and standardized operational processes and systems to support efficient operation. Identify and resolve problematic processes and/or system outputs, providing efficient and effective solutions to operations;
Provide timely and accurate management information and reports to senior management and customers as required;
Benchmark operational processes and systems, aligning with best practices and industry trends;
Guide site-level teams to ensure compliance with operational standards;
Align operational solutions with relevant internal and external stakeholders;
Support IT, Projects, and Operations teams with the implementation and upgrade activities on sites, ensuring delivery within timescales and agreed budgets;
Drive cost containment and cost savings through the development of efficient processes and systems;
Support the delivery of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to customers;
Identify areas of opportunity for improvement within operations;
Actively involve and support change initiatives;
Support internal decision-making processes by presenting accurate, fact-based information for critical review and approval, in both presentation and report forms;
Interface effectively with Site Teams, IT, Solutions Design, Projects, and Business Development departments to gather information and support the development of efficient, cost-effective solutions;
Ensure site compliance with policies and procedures as per SOPs, with the support of Senior Management Teams (SMTs);
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers and establish customer network on a working level (coach network);
Ensure that new processes are followed and maintained in order to reap projected benefits;
Support in the Monitoring of KPIs, quality standards and performance targets;
Coordinate the resolving of operational issues and push for process improvements;
Collect and share knowledge and best practices;
Review input from opportunity team, ensure quality and commercial standards are met;
Analyse collected data together with operational and functional experts and provide strategies for cost saving and efficiency.

Qualifications

Matric (Essential)
Degree or equivalent qualification (Essential)
Tertiary Qualification (Logistics, Business) (Advantageous)
5 year warehousing/logistics sector experience

Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules
Ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions
Ability to communicate effectively with team members
Excellent written and verbal communication
Self-starter
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
Excellent Systems knowledge
Good Problem solving & Follow through ability

Languages
English - verbal and written.
