Job Requirements: - Minimum NQF 7: Operational management Or Logistics degree/diploma essential - Knowledge of MS Project will be essential - Previous experience in Planning & Logistics disciplines - Min 10 years experience in a large manufacturing facility with managing high staff compliment Skills Required - Experience in Distribution, Logistics, Supplier Management, Transportation and Warehousing - Develop and implement strategic plans for logistics operations - Experience in managing teams, innovative and a problem solver, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; - Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task effectively and be deadline-driven - Good planning and organizing skills with the ability to work under pressure, independently, and long hours when needed - Ensure all dispatch targets and deadlines are met - Analyse logistics trends, market conditions and customer requirements to identify opportunities for improvement. - Co-ordinate and manage the transportation and warehousing of goods and materials. - Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers. - Effective communication with external contractors regarding truck availability, scheduling, and requirements on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. - Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective and reliable logistics services. - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to transportation, safety, and environmental regulations. - Implement best practices and new technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. - De-bottlenecking of dispatch thus ensuring maximum output from production and eliminating stoppages due to dispatch full. - Reduction in Paper stock keeping and continuous reduction of old paper stock. - Managing of finished goods across all locations, to ensure no stock loss through effective and efficient stock counts. - Managing of floor space and half pallets within the finished goods area. - Managing of slow-moving stock and investigating and reporting any irregular stock movements.
